Beginning this week, the streets of Everett will become just a bit more melodious. With the installation of a new art project, downtown visitors can sit down at a decorated piano and plunk away. There are no signs encouraging engagement with the pianos, but part of the fun of the installation is watching people harness their courage and creativity to bang out a piece or two. The instruments, which have been painted by various local artists, resemble the Puget Sound or the mouth of a leopard or a blooming garden. Tuned, repaired and decorated, the pianos sit on Everett’s downtown streets, waiting to be played. Click the link above to hear the full KUOW story.
